“Management and Administration of Churches and Christian Organizations”
Format: 11 meetings (once a month) • Duration: 1 year • Delivery: in-person / online
Evangel Theological University is launching a practical one-year management program to prepare administrators and ministry leaders for churches, missions, educational institutions, rehabilitation ministries, and social projects.
The program is designed with the approaches of the Assemblies of God USA educational environment in mind, where leadership development is combined with strategic planning, spiritual formation, and practical management competencies.
Program Vision
To form a generation of ministry managers who:
- build healthy systems in ministry (people, processes, resources);
- lead teams without chaos and burnout;
- are able to plan, implement change, and scale ministry;
- understand church governance, policies/structure, finances, and the legal framework of organizational operations.
Goal
To prepare managers and administrators who can responsibly lead:
- church administration (office, events, teams, documentation/workflow, resources);
- missions and social ministries (projects, partnerships, reporting, processes);
- educational and rehabilitation initiatives (planning, operations, standards, quality).
Purpose (What the Program Provides)
- to provide a clear ministry management system (from vision to results);
- to teach strategic planning and launching initiatives;
- to develop leadership, ethics, mentoring, and the spiritual maturity of a leader;
- to build practical skills: communication, budgeting, project management, teamwork, conflict resolution;
- to lay a foundation for further training/certification tracks within partner environments.
Who This Program Is For
- church administrators, department leaders, pastoral assistants;
- leaders of missions, social, and humanitarian projects;
- directors/deputy directors in training centers and rehabilitation ministries;
- leaders who want to move from “I carry everything myself” to a team-based and managed system.
Approximate Courses / Modules (11 Meetings)
- Leadership of a ministry manager: values, character, ethics, trust
- Strategic ministry planning: vision → goals → metrics → calendar/implementation plan
- Organizational structure of a church/organization: roles, responsibilities, policies/procedures
- Church governance, policies, and legal foundations (structure, documents, rules)
- Financial management and transparency: budget, reporting, accountability, spending policies
- Project management in ministry: launching a project, risks, deadlines, quality
- Teamwork and HR in ministry: recruiting, motivation, volunteers, team culture
- Communications and conflict management: negotiations, difficult conversations, mediation
- Operations management: office, events, logistics, safety, resource management
- Pastoral care and caring for people within a system (care, support, referral)
- Final practicum (Capstone): defending your own 12-month “Ministry Strategy” (for your church/organization)
Learning Outcomes
After the program, a participant will have:
- a ready strategy and a one-year ministry calendar;
- a clear structure of roles and processes for the team;
- templates: budget/reporting/project plan/policies and procedures;
- skills to manage people and resources without losing the spiritual essence of ministry.
