This program is designed to equip ministers at various levels for local churches in Ukraine, across the European Union, and in other regions of the world.

Professional Junior Bachelor’s Degree in Theology (B8 / 041 Theology)

Evangelical Theological University is launching a professional pre-higher education program that provides a strong biblical and theological foundation along with practical ministry skills. This is a shorter pathway than the traditional bachelor’s degree: the curriculum focuses on applied preparation for church and social ministry, community leadership, mission, pastoral care, teamwork, and pastoral ministry.

Program Goal

To prepare ministers and leaders who:

  • are well grounded in the Bible and the core doctrines of the Christian faith;
  • can apply theology in practice (preaching, discipleship, serving people);
  • are ready to serve in the church as beginning pastors, within missionary initiatives, Christian organizations and local communities, as preachers, and more.

Objectives

  • build biblical literacy and a holistic understanding of the Gospel;
  • teach the basics of theological thinking and biblical interpretation;
  • prepare students for practical ministry: preaching, small groups, pastoral care, evangelism, and ministry administration;
  • lay the foundation for continued study at the bachelor’s level (with possible credit transfer of selected learning outcomes according to ETU’s policies).

Vision

We envision the graduate of this program as someone who:

  • has a healthy faith, strong character, and the discipline of a minister;
  • knows how to learn, work in a team, and lead people responsibly;
  • communicates the Gospel in a contemporary language and serves wherever there is need—in the church, the city, and the community.

Duration of Study

Typically, a professional junior bachelor’s program includes 120–180 ECTS credits, depending on the student’s entry background; the annual workload is no more than 60 credits.

  • After Grade 11: approximately 2 years (120 ECTS — “short cycle”).
  • After Grade 9: professional secondary education is added in parallel, which may increase the total duration.
